What are the terms of using this site?
It's free to read. Nothing on it is advice, so check anything here for your own case before you act on it. The sections below say more.
1 · Who runs this site?
MotorsCY is run by Maximilian Berentzen ("I", "me"). You can reach me at contact@motorscy.com.
These terms apply to anyone who reads or uses the site. I may change them; the version on this page is the one that applies.
2 · Is anything here advice?
No. Nothing on this site is legal, tax or financial advice.
- The site explains how the rules work in general. It doesn't know your car or your circumstances.
- Reading the site or writing to me doesn't create an adviser–client relationship, with me or with anyone else.
3 · What does the road-tax calculator give you?
An amount worked out from the rates in the law. It isn't an official assessment.
- Where the law leaves a point open, it uses the reading I judge most likely, and its fine print says so.
- What the Road Transport Department charges can differ from it.
4 · How far can you rely on the figures?
They're published in good faith. They're general, and the law changes.
- Each is quoted from its source before it goes on a page. I can't guarantee that every one is complete, up to date or right for your case. The details are on How figures are checked.
- The "Checked" date on a guide is when its sources were last checked.
- Before you act on anything here, check it for your own case with a professional or the department concerned. As far as the law allows, I'm not liable for loss from relying on the site instead of advice.
5 · What about links to other sites?
Links to the laws, department pages and archived public pages the site cites let you check things yourself. A link is not an endorsement, and I'm not responsible for what another site says or does.
6 · Which law applies?
- Cyprus law governs these terms. A dispute about them or about the site goes to the courts of Cyprus.
- If you're a consumer in another EU country, its mandatory consumer rules still apply to you. You can also bring a claim in the courts there.
